Middle School

Middle School

Our middle school program starts in grades 6th- 8th. Each day our middle school students start their day in their homeroom and move each class period to different classrooms for instruction by a teacher with certification in that specific academic field. Teachers use differentiated teaching methods along with promoting high student-engagement activities that place a priority on higher level thinking.

Students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement can elect to participate in Dual-Enrollment Math through the Blessed Carlos Acutis Virtual Academy, offering students the opportunity to earn high school credit.

Curriculum

Religion

The spiritual development of our students is central to our school’s mission.

Science

The goal of the science curriculum, in the middle school, is to understand the majesty of God's creation through a keen focus on life science, earth/space science, and physical science.

Mathematics

Our middle school math curriculum provides students with the fundamental skills to succeed at the high school level and beyond.  Students are able to demonstrate growth in their quantitative and critical thinking skills and learn how to apply it effectively.

Social Studies

Education in social studies enables students to become well informed about the world around them through exploration of the social sciences of history, geography, economics, culture and government.

English Language Arts

The goal of our language arts curriculum, in the middle school, is to build upon the foundational skills learned in elementary school.  Students grow as readers through novel and literature studies and excel as writers by focusing on their composition and communication skills.

Spanish

In this area, students embark on a journey to learn a new language while gaining a deeper understanding of diverse cultures, particularly those within the global Catholic community.

Music/Art

In our Music and Arts program, students explore their God-given talents and express their creativity in ways that reflect the beauty of creation.

Physical Education

At Saint Lawrence Catholic School, we believe that sports are more than just physical activity - they teach important life skills like teamwork, determination, and discipline.
